Meet the Urbanview Staff

Urbanview Dental is more than just a trip to the dentist. This practice was founded on principles of quality, transparent, and trustworthy dental care, promoting patient education.  Empowering our patients, we arm them with thorough information so they can make the best decisions possible about their dental care and treatment options – it’s at the core of our practice. It’s thanks to this exceptional and professional team that we consistently exceed our patients’ expectations.

Dr. Sara Shayan

Dr. Sara Shayan graduated from dental school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Nova Southeastern University) in 2013. Upon graduation, she was chosen to attend a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Texas in San Antonio where she spent an enriching year expanding on her dental skills and experiences. At the completion of her formal dental training, she moved back to her native home in Ontario and looks forward to educating patients about preventative dentistry and oral health care, as well as providing excellent dental treatment.

Dr. Shayan is a dentist with a passion for what she does. Her skill set includes implant placement and restoration, complex extractions, bone augmentation procedures, connective tissue grafts, sinus lifts, utilizing CADCAM technology and IV conscious sedation.

Dr. Ayesha Jeelani

Born in Toronto, Dr. Jeelani obtained her dental degree from New York University. She then practiced in Texas before returning home to join Urbanview Dental. There are many things Dr. Jeelani enjoys about being a dentist, but being able to make a difference in the lives of her patients is one of her favourites.

Fun Fact - Dr. Jeelani was actually a patient at our sister office, Waterview Dental, growing up! The dental care she received there, along with her own orthodontic journey, inspired her to become a dental care provider.

In her free time, Dr. Jeelani enjoys the outdoors, reading, doing yoga, serving her community and spending time with family and friends.

Please note that Dr. Jeelani will be on maternity leave from December 22, 2023 - July 7, 2024.

Dr. Jared Crane

Originally from Newfoundland, Dr. Jared Crane completed dental school at Dalhousie University. He was then selected to attend the prestigious Hospital Dental Residency program at Mount Sinai hospital here in Toronto. Throughout the program, he treated a wide variety of patients in many different settings where he was able to broaden his skills in restorations, emergencies, prosthodontics (crowns, veneers, dentures), extractions, facial pain management, and collaborative treatment plans. Dr. Crane enjoys working with patients to improve their oral health and achieve a healthy smile they can be proud of!

In his free time, Dr. Crane loves exploring the outdoors and what nature has to offer. He enjoys downhill skiing, hiking, biking, and camping, and is always up for an adventure!

Dr. Alida Andersen

Dr. Alida Andersen is a caring and devoted dentist with a calm and friendly personality who believes in treating patients holistically. She provides excellent dental care; keeping in mind both the oral health and patient’s unique needs. She makes every effort to put her patients first, whether it is to take time to thoroughly explain procedures, involve patients in decision making, or to spend more time making those comfortable who have dental work anxiety.

She has received her degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at University of Western Ontario in 2009; and an Honours Bachelors of Science degree (B.Sc.H.) from University of Toronto in 2005. She works hard to provide the best dental care for her patients. Besides her love for her profession and her patients, she has always believed in having a balanced lifestyle, and has been continuously involved with community work, public speaking and media involvement during the past 23 years.

Since 2018, she has become an advocate for a greener and cleaner planet by bringing attention to the issues of plastic pollution (including becoming an advocate for greener dentistry). She has taken 1 day a week off from density in order to work on this project through lectures and her youtube channel (Alida Eco).

In addition, she has recently become active in fighting again human rights issues (specifically with women's rights issues in Iran and their fight for freedom), where she provides dental emergency advice from abroad to the protesters in Iran. In addition, she is part of a group called MAHSA-Medical (MAHSA- Medical Alliance for Health Services Abroad) and is working with them to help increase international awareness.
